Lisha Wan, OD
Dr. Lisha Wan is the third generation of eye doctors providing excellent eye care to our patients at Coastal Eye.
Dr. Lisha Wan completed her degree in Global Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, going on to get her doctorate in optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton. During her clinical training, she completed rotations at the VA Hospital in Las Vegas, as well as the VA West Los Angeles Medical Center and the Ketchum Health University Eye Centers in Los Angeles and Anaheim.
In addition to her education and training, Dr. Lisha Wan worked as a clinical research study coordinator for a large retina specialty group, enrolling and monitoring patients in clinical studies with a variety of retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetes, retinal vein occlusions and other complex problems. During this time she functioned as the primary site coordinator for the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network (DRCR.net), which is funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI), and represented the facility at national meetings. This experience gave her invaluable exposure to state-of-the-art treatments for these diseases.
Even more uniquely, Dr. Wan has integrated her global studies background by participating in overseas surgery and teaching missions, including time as an intern at Surgical Eye Expeditions (SEE). In conjunction with SEE, she has worked abroad in surgical missions to Ho Chi Minh City, a teaching and training mission to the Imperial City Eye Meeting in Hue, Vietnam, and a combined surgery and teaching eye care mission to the Children’s Surgical Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. During these missions, she was able to assist in evaluating and treating many needy patients with complex eye conditions, teach technicians and doctors some of the most modern advances in eye care, and gain valuable experience in the field far outside the usual scope of eye problems seen in Southern California.

Dr. Lisha Wan was raised in Ventura County, surrounded by family with close ties to our health care community. She is happy to remain close to her family and friends in the area, and loves the easy access to foods, beaches, outdoor activities, and the people of Ventura County.
